Ba Na Hills at a glance
Ba Na Hills, often written Bana Hills or Ba Na Hills Vietnam, is a mountain resort west of Da Nang in central Vietnam. It lies about 25 km south-west of the city center, at roughly 1,487 m above sea level. That figure describes the mountain and resort location, not the height of every sight or the climb of the cable car. The air is cooler than on the coast, clouds and fog drift through the buildings, and most visitors come for the Golden Bridge, the long cable car ride and a village built in a French style.
This guide covers tickets, tours from Da Nang and Hoi An, the way up, the bridge, the cable car, the French Village and the weather. It also covers Da Nang itself: the Dragon Bridge, My Khe Beach, the Marble Mountains, the Son Tra peninsula and the Hai Van Pass. Ba Na Hills is a privately run resort, so ticket rules and opening times can change. Prices are in Vietnamese dong (VND) as listed for 2026.

A few things to know before you go
Details that matter for planning in 2026.
Two price lists
The 2026 prices differ for visitors from outside Da Nang and for Da Nang residents. Children are measured by height, not age. The basic ticket does not cover every attraction, and some extras cost more.
Ticket prices โA free shuttle bus
A free bus from the city center has run since 8 August 2026. Seats are limited, so register one day ahead.
Getting to Ba Na Hills โQR code instead of coupons
Since 1 September 2026 one shared QR code replaces paper coupons for the services included in your ticket.
What the ticket includes โThe French Village is new
The village is a modern theme area, not a surviving colonial town. The old wine cellar, Debay, dates to 1923 and stands in the middle part of the mountain.
French Village โFog is part of the visit
Cloud and fog drift through the area, mostly from about October to February, and they can hide the view from the bridge. Bring a light rain layer and warm clothes for the evening.
Weather โDa Nang sights have their own rules
The Hai Van monument has charged VND 70,000 per person since 2 June 2026, and the Son Tra mountain roads limit which vehicles may use them.
Hai Van Pass โIf you are also planning Hoi An or Hue, see the neighbouring guides: Hoi An sits south of Da Nang, and Hue lies north across the Hai Van Pass.
Ba Na Hills in numbers

Da Nang is driest from about February to April and gets its heaviest rain in October. On the mountain, fog and light rain are more likely from about October to February. There is no guaranteed clear day, so plan some flexibility. See weather and best time.
Can I visit Ba Na Hills on my own, or do I need a tour?
You can go on your own: take a taxi, the free shuttle or the public bus, buy a ticket and ride the cable car. A tour mainly adds the transfer and a guide. The tours page explains the difference.

No. This is an independent travel guide. It is not run by the resort, the city of Da Nang or any tour company, so check the current rules with the ticket counter before you go.
