Da Nang to Ba Na Hills: your options

Ba Na Hills lies west of Da Nang, and the road from the city center takes about 40 to 50 minutes. The distance is roughly 34 to 40 km depending on the route. You have four ways to get to the mountain foot: a taxi or ride-hailing car, the free shuttle bus, a public bus, or your own motorbike or car. From the foot, cable cars take you up, and the sights are reached by cable car and paths inside the resort.

Which option fits depends on timing and budget. The shuttle costs nothing but needs a booking. A taxi is the most flexible. The public bus is cheap, but you should confirm where it stops before you rely on it. Costs below are 2026 guide values, not fixed fares.

Taxi from Da Nang to Ba Na Hills

Quick and flexible.

A taxi is the simplest way. A 5-seat taxi costs roughly VND 350,000 to 420,000 one way. A return trip with about 4 hours of waiting costs roughly VND 500,000 to 600,000. These are estimates, not meter or app prices, and a longer wait adds cost. Settle the waiting time and the return fare before you leave.

The values apply to a start in the city center. Starting from another point, such as the airport or Hoi An, changes both time and cost. Check the fare in the app or agree on it with the driver first. A return pickup at the foot is not guaranteed when you book a ride-hailing car, so arrange it in advance.

Free shuttle bus from the city center

New in August 2026.

Since 8 August 2026 a free shuttle has run to Ba Na Hills. It leaves at 08:30 and 09:30 from a stop by the Han River in the city center, and it returns from the resort at 16:00. Further stops cover the center and the coast, including East Sea Park, a stop opposite My Khe Beach and 99 Vo Nguyen Giap.

Seats are limited. Register one day ahead, and arrive about 15 minutes before departure. The bus does not pick up between the stops. Because the last bus back leaves at 16:00, it suits a day trip, not an evening visit. For an evening visit, see the evening package on the tickets page.

Public bus and driving yourself

Cheaper, with more to plan.

Public bus 03

Bus 03 serves Ba Na from the Da Nang airport area. It runs from 07:00 to 18:00 in that direction and from 08:00 to 19:00 from Ba Na, about every 30 minutes, with fares from VND 30,000. Confirm exactly where it stops near the airport before you rely on it.

By car

Cars drive to the mountain foot and park there. Parking is free for cars and motorbikes, and signs show where to stop. The sights on the mountain are reached by cable car and paths inside the resort.

By motorbike

The same free parking applies. A motorbike over 50 cc needs an international permit and your national licence, and a standard car licence does not cover it.

Cable cars

Several cable car lines take you from the foot to the middle area and to the summit. The ride takes about 20 to 25 minutes.

From Hoi An to Ba Na Hills

A longer road leg.

Hoi An lies further down the coast, and the free shuttle stops only in the Da Nang area. Plan a taxi, a ride-hailing car, a motorbike or a tour with pickup. Ask for the total time, the pickup point and the return before you pay. Fares and times for this leg vary, so agree on them in advance. The guide to Da Nang to Hoi An covers the road between the two towns.
