The main things to do in Da Nang
Da Nang is spread along a river and a coast, so the sights fall into distinct areas. The Dragon Bridge crosses the Han River in the centre. My Khe Beach runs along the coast. The Marble Mountains lie south-east of the centre, and the Son Tra Peninsula lies north-east. Ba Na Hills, the mountain resort, sits further out to the south-west.
Most visitors combine two or three of them per day. The big excursion is Ba Na Hills with its tickets and cable car, which takes most of a day. Prices below are for adults in 2026, and hours can change, so check each sight before you go.

Da Nang tours and day trips
If you prefer a guide and transport, these are the options.
Da Nang tours cover the city sights, the Marble Mountains, Son Tra and the Hai Van Pass, and many people join one for Ba Na Hills. A tour from Da Nang and a transfer from Hoi An are different services, and the price may or may not include entry. Check what each offer covers before you book. The Ba Na Hills tours page compares the day trips in more detail.

Bridge, beach and mountains
The sights Da Nang is known for.
The Dragon Bridge
The bridge crosses the Han River and is 666 m long and 37.5 m wide, with six lanes. It opened to traffic on 29 March 2013. The dragon breathes fire and then water at 21:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and on major holidays. The show lasts roughly 5 to 15 minutes in all, so plan to arrive early. A bad-weather cancellation is possible.
Dragon Bridge guide โMy Khe Beach
A city beach about 3 to 5 km from the centre, or 5 to 10 minutes by car depending on where you start. Swim only where lifeguards are on duty, inside the marked area, and leave the water when the lifeguards finish. The beach is not a place for swimming in bad weather or when warning flags or rip currents are reported.
My Khe Beach guide โThe Marble Mountains
Limestone hills named after the five elements, with caves, pagodas and viewpoints, about 8 km south-east of the centre. Entry to the main hill, Thuy Son, costs VND 40,000 for adults in 2026, and a lift is a separate ticket.
Marble Mountains guide โThe Son Tra Peninsula
A forested peninsula about 10 km north-east of the centre, with a highest point of 696 m. The Lady Buddha statue stands here, and the red-shanked douc langur lives in the forest. Do not feed or touch wild animals. Routes on the mountain have limits, and the roads can close in bad weather.
Son Tra guide โCity stops: Han Market and the Cham Museum
Two easy stops in the centre.
Han Market
Han Market is at 119 Tran Phu in Hai Chau district. It sells food, local specialities and souvenirs. A rough guide to the hours is 06:00 to 19:00, but not every stall keeps that schedule.
The Cham Museum
The museum shows sculpture from the historic Champa kingdom. In 2026 it is open from 07:30 to 17:00, and the entry is VND 60,000. Residents of Da Nang and students pay VND 20,000. Do not assume that every foreign visitor gets a reduction.
The Hai Van Pass
The old mountain road north of the city is a favourite for motorbike, jeep and car trips. There is an entry fee of VND 70,000 at the Hai Van Quan monument since 2 June 2026. The tunnel and the old road are different routes.
Hai Van Pass guide โSafety and access across the city
The sights do not share one set of rules.
The city beach and the mountain roads should not be judged by the same weather. A calm day at the beach can still mean a closed route on Son Tra, and a clear coast does not tell you what the summit at Ba Na Hills looks like. Hours and prices differ by sight, so check each one separately. Expect to pay at each place.
For the rainy months and typhoon season, see the Ba Na Hills and Da Nang weather page.
Hoi An, My Son and Hue
The neighbours get their own guides.
Hoi An and the My Son ruins lie south of Da Nang and are covered in detail at Hoi An things to do. The imperial city of Hue lies to the north beyond the Hai Van Pass, and you can read about it at Hue. Both fit into a longer stay, but not into the same day as Ba Na Hills.
