Ba Na Hills weather in short
The resort lies at roughly 1,500 m, so the mountain is cooler than the coast. The air is cooler in the morning, mild at midday and clearly fresher after dark. Clouds and fog are part of the picture, and they can change the view within one day. The monthly table further down describes the city of Da Nang, not the summit.
If you plan a day trip, it helps to pick the drier months and to start early. Read the Ba Na Hills ticket guide to see what is included, and keep a plan B for rain: the indoor Fantasy Park is a sensible fallback stop.

For most visitors, February to April is a good fit: it is comparatively dry and not as hot as the high summer. October is the wettest month, and September to December all bring large rainfall totals. No season guarantees sunshine, so treat the table as a guide to the odds.
Fog and cool air on the mountain
What the summit adds to the city's weather.
More cloud from October to February
In these months the mountain has more clouds and fog and occasional light rain. The view can change during the day: a grey morning may open up, and a clear start may close in. Do not subtract a fixed number from the city temperature: use the mountain guide values above instead.
The Golden Bridge in fog
Fog can hide the long view from the Golden Bridge. There is no promise of a clear photo at any hour, and a bridge in thick mist can still look striking. If the view matters, keep a second day free.
What to wear
Pack rain and wind protection for the mountain, plus a light layer for the evening, when it can fall to 14–16 °C. Shoes with grip help on wet paths. In the city, light clothing and sun protection are enough for most of the year.
The cable car in bad weather
Light rain does not automatically stop the cable car. Heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds can lead to changes or pauses, and a restart time is not guaranteed. Read the cable car guide for the lines and ride times.
Best time to go: Ba Na Hills and Vietnam
The short answer for the central coast.
If you wonder about the best time to visit Vietnam as a whole, the answer differs by region, and the central coast around Da Nang has its own pattern. Here the dry window is roughly February to April, the heat peaks from May to August, and the wet season runs from September to December. A visit in February to April gives you a better chance of dry days at the beach and at Ba Na Hills.
If you travel from September to December, plan for rain and keep dates flexible. A trip is still possible, but the mountain is more often in cloud, and outdoor plans such as the beach depend on the lifeguard and warning situation.
Typhoons and heavy rain in central Vietnam
A seasonal risk, not a forecast.
Typhoons are a risk in Vietnam, especially from June to November. In central Vietnam, strong monsoon rain with floods and landslides is possible from October to December. This is a seasonal risk and not a statement about any particular week. Check the current weather warnings before you travel, keep a flexible ticket where you can, and listen to local instructions if a storm approaches.
Rain affects the whole region, not only the mountain: road trips such as the Hai Van Pass and beach days are as exposed as the cable car.

Ba Na Hills weather: frequently asked questions
What is the best time to visit Ba Na Hills?
February to April is comparatively dry and not as hot as the high summer. No month guarantees clear views, because the mountain makes its own cloud and fog.
How cold is it at Ba Na Hills?
As a guide: 18–22 °C in the morning, 24–26 °C at midday and 14–16 °C in the evening after 19:00. The mountain lies at about 1,500 m and is cooler than Da Nang.
Is Ba Na Hills foggy all year?
No. There is more cloud, fog and light rain from about October to February. The view can change during the day, in either direction.
Does the cable car stop in the rain?
Light rain does not necessarily stop it. Heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong wind can cause changes or pauses, and a restart is not guaranteed.

No. The monthly figures describe Da Nang city. On the mountain, use the guide values of 18–22 °C in the morning, 24–26 °C at midday and 14–16 °C after 19:00.
