Ba Na Hills tours: what a day trip involves
A Ba Na Hills tour is a day trip to the mountain, usually with a transfer from Da Nang or Hoi An. Some tours include the entry ticket, some add the lunch buffet, and some come with a guide. Others sell only the ride. Because the products differ, the first step is to read what a given tour covers and what stays extra.
The park itself is the same however you arrive. The basic ticket covers the cable car, the Golden Bridge, the French Village, the gardens and most of the Fantasy Park. A tour does not change the opening hours or the ticket rules. It changes who drives, when you leave and how you get back.

Ba Na Hills from Da Nang
The shortest way up.
Da Nang is the closest starting point. By road the mountain foot lies roughly 34 to 40 km from the city center, and the drive takes about 40 to 50 minutes depending on the route. A tour from Da Nang saves you from choosing between taxi, shuttle and bus, and it gives you a pickup point. If you prefer to go alone, the page on getting from Da Nang to Ba Na Hills compares the options.
Plan a full day. The cable car ride takes about 20 to 25 minutes each way, and you add walking, queues and a meal. The free shuttle bus leaves the resort at 16:00, so a tour that leaves later has its own return arrangement. An evening visit is a separate product, covered under the evening package on the tickets page.
Ba Na Hills from Hoi An
A transfer first, then the mountain.
A tour from Hoi An and a transfer from Hoi An are different services. A tour sells a package with pickup and the ticket, while a transfer only moves you by road. The free shuttle bus stops only in the Da Nang area, so a visit from Hoi An needs a tour or a taxi for the road leg to the mountain.
Ask for the pickup time, the meeting point and the return time before you pay. Check that the total day still leaves time on the mountain. For the town itself and the road between the two, see the guide to Da Nang to Hoi An.
Tour or on your own
The same park, a different way to get there.
| Tour | On your own | |
|---|---|---|
| Transfer | Included or arranged | Taxi, free shuttle or public bus |
| Entry ticket | Included in some tours, extra in others | Bought at the counter or online |
| Return time | Set by the tour | Your choice, within park hours |
| Lunch buffet | Included in some tours | Added to the ticket if you want it |
| Flexibility | Fixed schedule | Full control of your day |
For most visitors staying in Da Nang without their own vehicle, a tour is the simplest way to get there. If you like to set your own pace, the free shuttle from the city center is worth a look.
What to check before you book
The details differ more than the price does.
What the ticket covers
The park ticket does not cover the Debay wine cellar, the light museum, the toboggan, climbing, prize games or the 10D cinema. Check whether the tour pays for any of them.
Ticket prices and extras โPickup and return
A tour from Da Nang and one from Hoi An are different. Confirm the pickup point, the departure time and the time you are back.
Lunch
Some tours include the lunch buffet and some do not. If you eat on the mountain, the buffet is an option on the ticket.
Weather
Fog and rain are common from about October to February, and heavy rain or strong wind can interrupt the cable car. Look at the forecast and ask about changes.

Ba Na Hills tours: frequently asked questions
Is a tour better than going on my own?
It depends on how you travel. A tour is simpler if you have no vehicle and want one price for transfer and entry. Going alone gives you control over time, and the free shuttle costs nothing.
How long is a Ba Na Hills day trip?
There is no fixed duration for all tours. The cable car alone takes about 20 to 25 minutes each way, and transfers, queues and meals come on top. Plan most of a day and check the return time in the tour details.
Does a tour include the entry ticket?
Some do and some do not. The entry ticket is a separate product, and the basic ticket does not cover the Debay cellar, the toboggan or the 10D cinema.
Can I book a Ba Na Hills tour from Hoi An?
Yes, tours from Hoi An exist. They are different from tours from Da Nang, and the free shuttle stops only in Da Nang, so check pickup and return times with the tour description.
Is a night visit possible?
Yes. There is an evening package for rides up after 15:00 with the cable car, a dinner buffet and the bus from the city center. The free daytime shuttle leaves the resort at 16:00, so an evening visit needs its own return.
