The Golden Bridge in Vietnam
The Golden Bridge, called Cau Vang in Vietnamese, is a pedestrian bridge on the slopes of Ba Na Hills, near Da Nang. Two oversized hands, shaped to look like weathered stone, appear to hold up a golden walkway that curves along the mountainside. The bridge is about 150 m long.
It opened in 2018 or 2019, and it is part of the Ba Na Hills resort, not a public bridge in Da Nang. You reach it by cable car after buying a Ba Na Hills ticket, and the bridge itself needs no separate ticket. If you are looking for the golden bridge with the fire-breathing dragon in the city, that is the Dragon Bridge.

Golden hand bridge: how it looks
What stands out when you walk it.
The hand bridge is a short walk, but the setting makes it. The hands rise from the hillside, and a golden path sweeps between them above a terraced flower garden. Cloud drifts across the slope, and on a clear day you look over forest and valley toward the coast. The bridge lies at about 1,414 m above sea level, which is not the height above the valley floor.
The bridge stands in the middle area of the mountain, where the gardens are too. The French Village sits higher, in the summit area. You can combine the bridge with a stroll through the gardens, then continue to the village. Plan some flexibility for the time you spend on the bridge, because weather and crowds change from day to day.

How to reach the Golden Bridge
By cable car, from the foot of the mountain.
From Da Nang
Travel to the foot of the mountain by taxi, the free shuttle or your own vehicle. The drive takes about 40 to 50 minutes.
From Da Nang to Ba Na Hills โWhich cable car
The line from Hoi An station to Marseille leads to the middle area with the bridge and the gardens. The line from Champa to Taiga goes straight to the summit area. You may not be able to choose any line you like, so ask at the station.
Cable car lines โEntry
The bridge is part of the basic ticket. There is no separate bridge ticket. A multi-day ticket works for up to 3 consecutive days after you convert it at the counter.
No access from outside
The bridge cannot be reached from a public road, and you cannot walk it outside the park's opening hours.
The gardens next to the bridge
A good reason to take your time.
Le Jardin d'Amour, the garden zone near the bridge, covers about 21,000 square meters and is split into 9 differently designed gardens. Which flowers are in bloom changes with the season, so do not plan around one particular species. The gardens are part of the basic ticket, like the bridge and the French Village, and they sit in the middle area of the mountain.
The garden zone and the Debay wine cellar are both in the middle area, not in the French Village. The cellar is a paid extra, from VND 100,000 with a drink, and it is covered on the French Village page as a nearby sight.
Fog, clouds and the view
Why the weather decides your photos.
Cloud and fog can hide the horizon, and nothing guarantees a clear photo. They appear most often from about October to February, and the view can change within a single day. Morning temperatures on the mountain are around 18 to 22 ยฐC, midday around 24 to 26 ยฐC, and after 19:00 the air cools to about 14 to 16 ยฐC.
Bring a light rain layer and something warm. Fog is part of the scene too, and in the mist the hands and the golden path can dissolve into the cloud. If the view is closed in when you arrive, wait a little before you leave. The weather page shows monthly rainfall for Da Nang and what to expect on the mountain.

Make the most of the bridge
Simple ways to plan the visit.
| If you want | Plan |
|---|---|
| A clear view | Look at the forecast and keep a spare hour; fog can lift |
| Comfort | Pack a light layer; the evening air drops to about 14 to 16 ยฐC |
| A relaxed day | Combine the bridge with the gardens and the village |
| Transport handled | A day trip from Da Nang or Hoi An |
For most visitors, the bridge works best as one stop in a full day on the mountain, together with the gardens and the village. Park hours are 08:00 to 22:00, with changes possible, so check on the day.
